Customer Overview

Ammega is a century-old industrial manufacturer specializing in conveyor belt systems for global industries. As part of its long-term digital transformation initiative, Ammega has been investing in modern software development practices to support internal applications and digital services. Ammega’s internal software teams are responsible for building and maintaining critical digital tools across multiple business units — a transition that required a stable, scalable, and modern cloud infrastructure.

The Challenge

Ammega’s teams were in the early stages of cloud modernization and needed a partner to help them:

  • Modernize legacy workflows with cloud-native practices
  • Establish secure, reproducible environments across multiple Azure subscriptions
  • Enable developer velocity while maintaining enterprise-grade governance and compliance
  • Handle a hybrid infrastructure model with both PaaS and custom DevOps implementations
  • Serve multiple internal teams with tailored solutions, without fragmenting operations

With limited internal DevOps capacity and Azure complexity, Ammega sought a platform and partner who could provide both standardization and flexibility.

The Solution

CodeCapsules worked with Ammega to design and manage infrastructure across 3–4 Azure subscriptions, delivering two distinct solutions depending on team needs:

Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) on Azure

For two of Ammega’s teams, CodeCapsules deployed and managed its PaaS directly on Ammega’s Azure infrastructure. These teams gained:

  • A standardized deployment workflow
  • Containerized environments with monitoring and auto-scaling
  • Centralized visibility and access control
  • Improved onboarding and support for developers

Custom Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) + Azure DevOps Pipelines

For a more specialized product team, CodeCapsules engineered a custom infrastructure stack, including:

  • Terraform-defined infrastructure for full reproducibility
  • Integrated Azure DevOps pipelines for CI/CD
  • Use of Azure Functions, VNets, subnets, and other native services
  • Granular security controls and network policies

This hybrid approach meant Ammega could standardize where possible and customize where needed — without creating silos or duplicating effort.

Outcomes
